Isa Jones does such a good job in the Phoenix area! She held a great meeting in January, and she has three more planned so far in 2017: January 20, 2017: "Somatic Healing with Charlie Glickman." Isa reports that attendance was excellent with 30 people, maxing out the room's capacity. Four (4) APA CEs were granted, as well as four (4) AASECT CEs. Upcoming Events:
It is an active time in Alaska this spring. AASECT members Susan LaGrande PhD, Chris Reynolds PsyD, and Kelvin Pace MS, will be offering a workshop entitled Untangling the Controversies Surrounding Sexual Addiction at the Couples Center's annual meeting. We are also coordinating with this group to provide brown bag lunch meetings on topics of interest in the area of fostering sex positive relationships in couples.
Dear AASECT Family: As we approach 2017, AASECT marks its 50th year as an organization. Some of you have been with AASECT since its earliest days and I cannot thank you enough for setting a foundation upon which we all keep contributing. We have a great deal to celebrate (and we certainly will do so at our summer 2017 annual conference) and we also still have significant work to do.
As we approach AASECT’s 49th annual conference, we are diligently working on developing a quality program that highlights this year’s theme: Honoring Our Past, Celebrating the Present, and Envisioning Our Future. We are emerging from our conference planning to give you a glimpse into what you can expect this year in Vegas!
The Board approved a Position Statement on the topic of Sex/Porn Addiction and we are currently formulating our strategy to continue to release this statement to the media. Additionally, we launched a dedicated press listserv which currently includes nearly 100 AASECT members and makes them available for press inquiries from approximately 500 members of the Media.
