Greetings from the Conference Planning Committee!

As we get closer to June, we are excited to highlight some of the evening events being offered during the conference.   These activities combine learning, entertainment, participation, and they connect us with folks from the local Denver community.

Taste of Kink II--Registration fee: $125

  • Back by popular demand! The AASECT AltSex Special Interest Group and National Coalition for Sexual Freedom have teamed up to bring you a live demonstration of 7-8 kink practices. These will be demonstrated by members of the local kink communities and will show not only paraphernalia and technique, but the process of contracting and consent, the technical aspects of play, and aftercare. AASECT members will have some opportunity to participate if they wish, and Q&A will be provided at each station.

Bedpost Confessions--Registration Fee: Included in conference registration

  • BedPost Confessions merges entertainment, ethics, and education while exploring sex and sexuality through the lenses of humor and vulnerability (without sparing any racy details). Four performers will tell stories & read audience members’ anonymous confessions from the stage. Everyone is welcomed to come as they are, moving forward as the dignified and creative sexual beings that we are!

A Kink in the Cure--Registration Fee: Included in conference registration

  • Imagine a live performance piece similar to The Vagina Monologues, but about people with experiences in BDSM (kink). This is an ethnographic, multi-media, creative-nonfiction performance centered in the world of Kink and BDSM. These are the stories of people who have a history of sexual abuse or trauma and how BDSM has impacted their healing process. Following the performance, there will be a talkback with the audience on BDSM, Kink and Poly topics.

In addition to these conference events, we hope you carve out some time to enjoy the local community. Colorado has one of the most vibrant AASECT communities in the country with more than 100 active and involved members, which is quite a few for a state with only 5.6 million people.  Many Colorado members have provided countless volunteer hours to ensure that the Denver conference is an event you won’t want to miss.

Furthermore, a comprehensive “Guide to Denver” will be available soon that was created by local members. Denver is a happening place, and we hope you take full advantage exploring what the city and surrounding area has to offer!
