From the President's Desk - June 2017
Dear AASECT Family:
We are so excited to see you soon in Las Vegas where we will be celebrating our 50th anniversary with what appears to be record attendance! I cannot give enough thanks to our conference co-chairs, Mariotta Gary-Smith and Jayleen Galarza (as well as their committee members), our AASECT Executive Director Michael Chan and his phenomenal team - Alphonsus Baggett, Kellie Braband and Jessica Gonzalez, the AASECT Board of Directors and moderators and everyone else who has stepped forward to create a stellar line up of plenaries, workshops, and research presentations. We also have dozens of exhibitors and sponsors who I hope you will reach out to at our conference, acknowledging the work that they are also doing to promote sexuality education and/or health and to thank them for their commitment to AASECT. It takes a passionate community of professionals to move our nation forward toward achieving more progressive and inclusive goals of sexual well-being.
We hope to see many of you, too, this August at the Summer Institute focused on supervision – an area of our profession that continues to grow! If you’d like to sharpen your supervision skills or dream of working toward supervision certification, this is the intensive training and experience for you.
