AASECT update: online synchronous learning extended through December 31, 2021
Though everyone wishes it was over, here we are still in the midst of COVID-19. Taking the necessary precautions for our membership to thrive during these difficult times meant that the requirements for live, in-person classes were adapted in April 2020 to allow for streaming (online synchronous) classes to count towards AASECT certification.
In light of the ongoing COVID-19 precautions, the board has approved an extension of the current policy to allow streaming (online, synchronous) learning to count as live class attendance through December 31, 2021.
In the recent provider survey, many people reported excellent evaluations from students in this new format. Despite everyone's hope that we can return to in-person learning, it is reassuring to hear that the pivot to online learning environments has resulted in many positive experiences.
